Islam and Environmental Ethics (Part 2/2)

The Prophet said that even a tiny unborn that was killed because of human recklessness is going to appear before the Lord of the worlds asking for justice. You and I are accountable if we do not take the necessary steps. Let us reflect on the creation of Allah. Let us find the hand of Allah in everything out there. There is beauty there leading to the source which is Allah. Let us connect with nature.

The Intention: The Foundation of All Actions

The Messenger of Allah said: "Verily actions are by intentions, and for every person is what he intended. So the one whose ‘hijrah’ (migration) was to Allah and His Messenger, then his ‘hijrah’ was to Allah and His Messenger. And the one whose ‘hijrah’ was for the world to gain from it, or a woman to marry her, then his ‘hijrah’ was for what he made ‘hijrah’ for."

Who Invented the Trinity Doctrine?

Christianity has digressed from the concept of the Oneness of God, however, into a vague and mysterious doctrine that was formulated during the fourth century. This doctrine, which continues to be a source of controversy both within and outside the Christian religion, is known as the Doctrine of the Trinity.

Lessons Learnt from the Story of Moses and Pharaoh

From this story, I learnt that Allah’s fate and predestination is unquestionably going to take place. As Pharaoh slaughtered thousands of children lest a promised one should come to life and defeat him as was predicted by his soothsayers. Indeed, this is what happened eventually as Musa was the one who caused Pharaoh to die in the sea.

What Made Her Cry?

Leaving them what may suffice them for three days only, Hatim set out for his journey with neither provisions nor money on him and he followed the caravan by walking behind it. On their way, the leader of the caravan was stung by a scorpion and an announcement for someone who could treat him with ruqyah

7 Things You Did not Know About Khadijah

I would give anything to do an on-the-job, ride-along with Khadijah. Gladly swipe my car for a camel- my laptop for a government-issued glass weight to measure goods in trade. What could I learn in one day of shadowing this highly-respected business leader, trading furniture, pottery and silks? Khadijah was born to a father who was a successful merchant in the Quraysh tribe of Makkah. She inherited her father’s skills in a time in history where society was male-dominated and dangerous.

Water and Sanitation

Muslims believe that water is a gift from God and that it is a proof of God’s existence, greatness and His Uniqueness. God calls on us to contemplate the rain, the rivers, and the salty and sweet water; He calls on us to recognize water as a sign of His Bounty. God provides us with the water we need, but could just as easily withhold it.

Between Paul and Jesus Christ

No doubt the key difference which divides Trinitarians from Unitarians, and Christians from Muslims, is Pauline theology. For centuries the argument has been put forth that Trinitarian Christians largely follow Pauline theology more than that of Jesus. This charge is difficult to deny, for Jesus taught the Law of the Old Testament,

The Qur’an: The Way to Salvation

Allah revealed the Book (Noble Qur’an) in order for us to read it, and mull over it with care and vigilance; to enrich our souls from its remembrance; to carry it and construe it in the best of manners; to affirm it and strive to establish its commands and prohibitions; pick the fruits of its precious knowledge that is our way to Allah and to glean the wisdom from its gardens and flowers.

Muslim Civilization is the Source of European Renaissance

Science is the most momentous contribution of Arab civilization to the modern world; but its fruits were slow in ripening. Not until long after Moorish culture had sunk back into darkness, did the giant, which it had given birth to, rise in his might. It was not science only, which brought Europe back to life. Other and manifold influences from the civilization of Islam communicated its first glow to European life
