Category Does God Exist?

This section covers all issues related to the existence of God, how we should know Him, how to feel His existence, etc.

Allah: The One and Only God

The One true God is a reflection of the unique concept that Islam associates with God. To a Muslim, Allah is the Almighty, Creator and Sustainer of the universe, Who is similar to nothing and nothing is comparable to Him. The Prophet Muhammad was asked by his contemporaries about Allah…

How Do We Know God is One? (Part 1/2)

The Qur’an rhetorically asks the question: “Did the universe come out of nothing?” The answer seems quite obvious due to the metaphysical and undeniable logic that whatever begins to exist has a cause, and since the universe began to exist, therefore it must have a cause. It would be irrational to posit more than one cause for the universe, as an infinite regress of causes is impossible.

God is Ar-Raqib: The Ever-Watchful

Today’s world excels in managerial and financial oversight. Self-monitoring is regarded a great personal quality that makes a person more-productive, honest, and impervious to corruption. Nothing brings about this quality in a person like the awareness that Allah is Ever-Watchful and knows everything we do, great and small, visible and hidden.

The Purpose of Life in Light of the Qur’an

What we have to understand is how these signs indicate that there will be a Hereafter. One course of thought is that if God can create the heavens, earth, mountains and rivers then why can He not raise us all after we are dead. The second reasoning is that there is so much wisdom behind the creation of this universe and each object follows such an impeccable order, that it cannot be that the Creator of this galaxy with His infinite wisdom will treat the oppressed and oppressor in the same manner.

God Is Merciful: Why Hell?

Unlike the believers in re-incarnation, in which the dead are believed to be reborn into a better or worse life according to his/her deeds in the last life, the adherents to the Abrahamic religions believe that there are only two lives. The first, being from the mother’s womb, and the second, when a person is resurrected on the Day of Judgment to account for his deeds.

Struggling Between Islam and Atheism

The claim that something does not exist because we haven’t seen it, heard it, etc... is untenable. When we consider the limitations of our sensual perception and reasoning powers, it is not necessary that we understand everything; and there are facts that lead us to an inescapable awareness of the Presence of God. At any rate none can deny the possibility of more things existing than can be perceived by our senses or can be arrived at by our reasoning.

The Existence of Almighty God

According to the Qur’an, of the myriads of the creation of Allah Almighty in the universe, only human beings are endowed with intellectual faculties and freedom of choice, though within limits. It is only humans who have the ability as well as the freedom to critically observe and logically analyze the objects and events around them and make inferences about the forces working behind them.

Fascism: The Return of Paganism

Previously, we identified fascism as a system of violence that emerged in pagan societies. The basic reason for this violent tendency in fascism comes from the philosophy of "worshipping strength," that might is right. The strong have the right to rise to the top and crush the weak. Fascists greatly admire the strong, but hate and despise the weak.

The Beauty of Allah’s Creation

Man is created as the most beautiful creature on earth. He is given the power of reasoning and insight. He is created as the vicegerent on earth never to be forsaken by God's words of guidance. This is so lest man should lose his way, rebel against the will and plan of his Lord, and gradually become puffed up with egotism, self-exaltation and innumerable superstitions pertaining to his own existence and existence taken as a whole.
