Because of their perception and opinions, both the teacher and the student were unjustly persecuted, tortured, and humiliated in public by the local authorities then, and they were imprisoned in a single cell, while other disciples were kept separate in the central prison of Damascus, still known to-date as al-Qal’ah. Among the imprisoned scholars, there also was a young man named Ibn Kathir who later on became as the most renowned Muslim scholar and compiler of the most comprehensive Qur’anic commentaries ‘Tafsir Ibn Kathir.’
The first female martyr of Islam was a black slave in pre-Islamic Arabia. As we explore her story, one can’t help but wonder: What attracted her to Islam? How did she gather the indomitable courage to defy the norm and embrace change?
So, if someone says something that you may get wrong, hasten to ask him about what he meant to say and to make himself clear on the issue at hand. And, if someone says something unintentionally and you find it offensive or insulting, you should think good of him and stop yourself from thinking bad of him or his intentions
On the contrary, the basis of prophethood is absolute knowledge and faith in the existence of the Creator (Allah, the Most High and Exalted). True knowledge and even life itself are the creation of Allah, Who is the only Creator, the sole Sustainer and Healer. All authority and sovereign powers belong to Him and Him alone.
But when he went to the mosque, he felt a sense that somehow he was immediately displaced from his position of security, like that sense he had, something is really wrong with Islam, suddenly, he started to have doubts. He went home that day confused because he can feel that there is something beautiful about Islam; there is some peace and serenity in the mosque that he experienced now for himself.
What is happening to the Palestinian people represents the worst type of oppression, transgression, and tyranny. The shocking thing, though, is that the oppressor is succeeding in covering up his crimes behind the veil of "self-defense" and "the protection of culture." His tyranny manifests itself in the form of seizing people's properties and attacking the sacred places: Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa - the first qiblah, the second masjid ever built, and the third in rank of virtue after the two Sacred Mosques of Makkah and Madinah.
This article sums up for us the personality of this great scientist, whose objective in this life was seeking knowledge. He was, in fact, an embodiment of the saying of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):"Seeking (Islamic) knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim."
The Arabs possessed something that was not possessed by any of the other civilizations back then. That thing was quite unique to them. Maybe this can be understood from Allah’s saying in the Ever-Glorious Qur’an that means, “Allah is most knowing of where He places His message.” (Al-An`am 6: 124).
