Jesus Christ and “His People”!

There is no doubt or suspicion whatsoever about this Divine Book of Allah which was revealed to Prophet Muhammad, the Last of all messengers and prophets sent by Allah the Almighty to guide humanity to the Straight Path; the chain of prophets and messengers started with Prophet Adam, father of all mankind and ended with Prophet Muhammad as is well-known by many. The Qur’an, the accuracy of which was attested to by many throughout the ages, is a book of guidance that aims to guide all humanity to what benefits them in this present life as well as the hereafter.

Conversion Story of Sir Abdullah Archibald Hamilton

There is no religion that is so maligned by the ignorant and the biased as is Islam; yet if people only knew, it is the religion of strong for the weak, the rich for the poor. Humanity is divided into three classes. First, those on whom God has, out of His bounty, bestowed possessions and wealth; secondly, those who have to work to earn their living; and lastly, the great army of the unemployed, or those who have fallen by the wayside through no fault of their own.

Science and Religion: A Love-Hate Relationship?

Islam is a religion based upon knowledge derived through reason and revelation; and ultimately it is our knowledge of the Oneness of God combined with faith as well as the total commitment to God that saves us. In the history of Islamic Civilization a student of science – indeed any seeker of knowledge – has always been held in honor and high esteem.

The Wisdom Behind I`tikaf

Moreover, I`tikaf (seclusion in the mosque) was prescribed by Shari`ah with the main purpose of making the heart fully occupied with and totally devoted to Allah alone, seeking nothing but His pleasure and finding intimacy in none but Allah, thus, this intimacy will remove his loneliness in the grave and grant him happiness, and this is the greatest purpose of I`tikaf.

Kindness to Children

The same happened with his two grandsons, Al-Hassan and Al-Hussein (May Allah be pleased with them), when they grew up a little, and were able to toddle around, they very frequently wandered out of their house into the Prophet’s masjid (i.e. mosque). If the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) was in the middle of a khutbah (i.e. sermon), he would immediately stop, descend from the pulpit, take them in his arms, carry them back, and seat them beside himself on the pulpit, and then he would resume his khutbah.

Distinct Features of the Qur’anic Language

Muslims believe that the Qur’an was then transmitted to us through numerous persons, both verbally and in writing, and that “It is inimitable and unique, protected by Allah from any corruption.” Moreover, the Qur’an was revealed in the most refined and eloquent of all languages, namely, Arabic. According to IbnFaris, Arabic is believed to be “the most refined of all languages” as it expresses many meanings using very few words. In addition, it is the “most disciplined, organized, eloquent and clear” of all languages. He also stressed that “the language of the Arabs has been divinely-revealed” (IbnFaris, 1997).

What is Islamic Monotheism?

Muslims believe that there is only One God. He alone is the Sustainer and Creator of the universe. He is without partners, children, or associates. He is the Most Merciful, the Most Wise, and the Most Just. He is the all hearer, all seer, and the all knowing. He is the First , He is the Last.
